Yay or Nay

Shameless self promotion

Where have I been, you ask? I have been assisting with several fashion shows, styling, working backstage and gophering (yes, believe it.)There is so much work that goes into a show, I had no idea. The 10 or 15 minutes that the show usually takes is actually a flurry of activity behind the scenes. Making sure everything is picture perfect before the models hit the runway brings a great level of satisfaction seeing something that you helped create being brought to the masses. Definitely something I want to continue!

Splurge vs. Steal

Can you guess the not so big splurge ($78) vs the ($16.50!) steal?

Twelve by Twelve

Sylvia over at I Like Her Style hipped me to Twelve by Twelve, Forever 21's higher priced sister line aimed at the more sophisticated shopper. Forever 21 rapidly exploits the latest trends for tweeners and twenty-somethings while Twelve by Twelve hopes to attract those customers who want to wear their items again even after they've washed it (You know I'm not lying.) I really like some of the things on the site although I am hopeful that they fit a little larger than the Forever 21 brand clothing. The price points are higher than Forever 21 but everything is priced under $100. Twelve by Twelve is available in select Forever 21 stores and online.

Yay or Nay?

I have seen mixed reviews of this Fendi crossword patent clutch online so what's your style verdict, Yay or Nay? (It actually doesn't matter, I already bought it!)

My new obsession

Pint of Blue Bell butter pecan ice cream? Check. Week's worth of my new favorite show? Check.

My new obsession besides Oprah, Law & Order (SVU, not the one with the know-it-all guy) and Grey's Anatomy is Tim Gunn's Guide to Style on Bravo. Think of this as a revamp of TLC's struggling What not to Wear that now reminds me of Gap. *yawn* (okay, I'm going to lay off of Gap, I am just trying to stir up trouble!) Giving each participant rules such as a contract, ten basic pieces every woman should have in her wardrobe and the importance of silhouettes, Tim and uber model Veronica Webb (love the hair!) are ruthless, witty and sensitive. (Which I can exhibit all in one hour also.) Gunn became known from the hit reality series Project Runway and has parlayed his fashion know-how to the fashion challenged. I am a fan of the show because I love to see the transformations of the clients as they morph into women who know what looks best on their body types and actually get excited about shopping and looking great. Bravo bravo!
